Our first Civil Protection Youth Canada community program is offered for the National Capital Region at our national headquarters, located in Cantley, Quebec – just a few minutes walking distance to Cantley City Hall and the community center.
CPYC volunteers, age 12-79, commit to get together on the last Saturday of each month. For a one time volunteer intake fee of $100 (or $200 per family) we continuously learn, train and have a great time together, making best use of our fabulous wilderness training areal.
In addition, all youth volunteers are invited to join us Wednesday evenings (5-8pm), for extra fresh air fun, enhanced comradery, screen detox and deep diving into the various monthly training topics and skills. .
We give our regular youth volunteer leaders a chance to keep their knowledge and skills up to date by offering them job opportunities to help facilitate a variety of activities for children (8-12), like disaster resilience themed camps and workshops, and all kinds of skill development and interesting outdoor activities for all age groups including adults to help create revenue in support of our ongoing community program.
If you are in the National Capital Region and interested to join our community group, or would like to support the CPYC leadership team from anywhere you are, please get in touch at info@civilprotection.ca We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
Please sign up to our email list if you would like to receive updates on our activities.
Moving forward, we will explore further funding opportunities as we continue to expand across Canada, and envision offering our service to build disaster capacity and community resilience to all levels of government.
All our programming has a strong focus on healthy outdoor activities that promote nature-mindedness, team spirit, practical hands-on skill building, confidence and resourcefulness.
We offer a variety of outreach and fun, active, educational outdoor activities around the theme of disaster readiness and resilience, for both the young and young at heart, including:
